These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Iron Rod AI's website at theironrod.ai and ironrodai.com and related services ("Services"). These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the complete agreement between you and Iron Rod AI. Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not access or use our Services.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our Services independently. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use our Services with parental or guardian consent. Users under the age of 13 require verifiable parental consent in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). See our Privacy Policy for details on our age verification process. Users of all ages may use the Services, but account creation and subscriptions are subject to the consent requirements described above.

2. Description of Services

Iron Rod AI provides an AI-powered chatbot and related services designed to assist with scripture study and gospel learning. Our Services are available in both free and paid tiers. Certain features may be designated as beta or experimental. Our Services may change from time to time without prior notice.

Iron Rod AI is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of our Services, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

4. Subscription and Payment

Free Tier

Our free tier provides limited access to our Services, including up to 6 questions and answers per month. The free tier is provided at no cost and may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time without notice. No refund or credit provisions apply to the free tier.

Paid Subscriptions

Some features of our Services require a paid subscription. All payments are processed through Stripe, and we do not store your credit card information. By subscribing, you agree to pay all fees applicable to your subscription plan.

Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for the remaining portion of a billing period.

Service Disruptions

In the event of an extended service disruption, you may request a credit or refund by contacting our support team. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

5. User Content

Our Services allow you to create, upload, and share content. You retain ownership of any content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, publish, and transmit such content, and to modify or adapt it, solely as necessary to deliver and operate our Services for you.

You are solely responsible for all content that you submit and agree not to submit content that:

• Violates any applicable law or regulation
• Infringes on the rights of any third party
• Is harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Contains malicious code or attempts to interfere with the proper functioning of our Services

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use our Services for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our Services
• Circumvent any technological measures implemented to protect our Services
• Use automated means to access or use our Services without our permission

7. Intellectual Property

Our Services and all content and materials included on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, are the property of Iron Rod AI or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

TruthLock™ Verify and TruthLock™ Proof of Authenticity are proprietary, patent-pending technologies of Iron Rod AI. All rights are reserved.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Our Services utilize artificial intelligence to generate responses to your queries. Our AI system may use multiple AI language model providers, all of which have been vetted and are not permitted to use API data for model training; retention is limited to processing as required to deliver the service. While we strive for accuracy and relevance, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You acknowledge that:

• All responses are AI-generated and should not be considered as professional religious, legal, medical, or financial advice
• You should verify important information through appropriate sources
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated responses
• AI responses are not a substitute for personal revelation, priesthood authority, or official church guidance

Voice (Read Aloud)

Our optional Read Aloud feature uses third-party text-to-speech technology to convert AI responses into spoken audio. When you use this feature, the text of the response is sent to the provider to generate audio. Use of Read Aloud is optional and subject to the applicable provider's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

9. Beta and Experimental Features

Certain features of our Services may be designated as "beta," "experimental," or "preview." These features are provided on an as-is basis with additional limitations:

• Beta features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice
• Beta features may contain bugs, errors, or produce unexpected results
• We make no warranties regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of beta features
• Your use of beta features is at your own risk

10. TruthLock™

TruthLock™ is a proprietary, patent-pending system comprised of two complementary components: TruthLock™ Verify and TruthLock™ Proof of Authenticity.

TruthLock™ Verify

TruthLock™ Verify is an automated evaluation system that assesses each AI-generated response for accuracy against authoritative sources. Authoritative sources are the sources we designate as trusted for verification in a given domain, such as official Church publications and the standard works for LDS content. For each response, TruthLock Verify produces:

• A verification badge indicating the overall classification at a glance
• An accuracy classification categorized by content type (doctrinal, factual, cultural, non-LDS, and others) with an accuracy determination for each
• Detailed reasoning explaining how the determination was made
• Specific citations from the authoritative sources used to make the determination

TruthLock Verify is designed to help you evaluate AI-generated content. It does not replace personal study, revelation, or official Church guidance.

TruthLock™ Proof of Authenticity (PoA)

TruthLock™ Proof of Authenticity creates a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of verified AI responses locally on our servers and records only this hash on a public blockchain (Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network). Your conversation content is never sent anywhere to create the hash. By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree that:

• A cryptographic hash of response content, verification results, and citations is computed locally and recorded on a public blockchain
• Blockchain records are permanent and cannot be deleted or modified
• The hash itself does not contain your personal information or the actual content of responses—it is mathematically impossible to reverse
• Your conversations remain private in your account unless you choose to share them
• Sharing is completely voluntary—you control whether, with whom, and where you share conversations
• When you share, the full context (question, response, and TruthLock verification) is always included to maintain cryptographic integrity
• If you share a response along with its verification link, recipients can confirm the content matches what was originally generated
• Public verification pages display our blockchain wallet address and transaction details for independent verification—no personal information about you is shown
• This feature allows you to verify authenticity of your own private conversations and enables recipients of shared content to do the same

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Iron Rod AI be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of our Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iron Rod AI's total aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of our Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50 USD).

13. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by requesting account deletion through our support page. You may request an export of your data before deletion. Upon termination, your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to our Services for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms. For serious violations (including illegal activity or abuse), termination may be immediate and without prior notice. In other cases, we will endeavor to provide reasonable notice when feasible.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use our Services ceases immediately (or at the end of any notice period, if applicable). If we terminate your account without cause, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund for any prepaid subscription fees covering the period after termination. No refund is provided if your account is terminated for violation of these Terms or if you cancel voluntarily (though you retain access through the end of your billing period). Data deletion following termination is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Force Majeure

Iron Rod AI shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, third-party service disruptions, blockchain network congestion or unavailability, cyberattacks, pandemics, or other events beyond our reasonable control.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice before the updated Terms take effect by posting the changes on our website, updating the "Last Updated" date, and making reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by email). Your continued use of our Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the modified Terms, you may discontinue use of our Services before they take effect.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

17. Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS in accordance with its Streamlined Arbitration Rules & Procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted in Utah, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding. Iron Rod AI will cover all arbitration fees and costs exceeding the initial JAMS consumer filing fee. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in a class action or representative proceeding.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Iron Rod AI regarding your use of our Services, and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
